Scuba Diving

The fascinating and unique underwater world of North Cyprus, where you can enjoy one of the longest diving lessons in the Mediterranean, are not to be missed by anyone interested in Scuba Diving. You fill find crystal-clear, unpolluted water where the marine life is still undisturbed.  Underwater visibility can be more than 30 meters. Down in the deep blue you will meet sting rays, amber jacks, scorpion fish, bream, grouper, cuckoo, wrass and now and then a sea turtle. The underwater terrain is further more an ideal place for octopus and moray eel, colourful sponges, soft corals, as well as shipwrecks from ancient times. You can choose from about twenty diving sites east and west of Kyrenia as well as diving safaris to other place along the coast.

You can also experience wreck diving including the site where the world’s oldest shipwreck was found, dating from the time of Alexander the Great.

However Scuba diving along the coasts of
North Cyprus is not allowed on your own.  It is also illegal to move any historical artefacts.
Scuba Cyprus; based in Kyrenia, is the largest professional diving centre and the first and only BSAC / PADI recognised diving school in North Cyprus, operating two dives a day from Deniz Kizi beach trough out the year.

There are many beaches in Kyrenia and Famagusta which offer a variety of other water sports ranging from water-skiing to parascending, and from wind-surfing to jet skiing.

Most of the beaches are
sandy and have a bar, restaurant, toilets and showers, and are ideal for non divers as well.


For sailing and wind surfing beaches of North Cyprus is place to be! For whose; who would like to learn to sail; Dolphin North Cyprus, offers one to one or one to two training from fully qualified RYA instructors at a pace to suit you.

They will also hire out vessels for experienced sailors who want to go it alone.

Yachting / Boat Tours

Leaving from Kyrenia Harbour daily are a variety of boats trips. You can asil our West to Escape beach and sunbathe, snorkel and swim in the calm shallow waters. You can sail out East to Alagadi Beach and scuba dive or picnic alternatively you can take sunset dinner cruise around the coast.

Whatever type of sailing trip, takes you fancy, head to Kyrenia Harbour and chat the boats ‘captains’ and find out what’s on offer for the next day.  You can even hire boats for private sailing and boat trips to your own personnel destination favourites.

There are also Boat Tours which depart from the port in Famagusta and sail along the Karpaz Peninsula.


There are yacht mooring facilities in Kyrenia and Famagusta. There are also yacht and boat tours are available throughout the summer from Kyrenia Horbour.
